Call senators now to urge them to vote against (h) cloture on the Patriot Act reauthorization unless changes are made to protect civil liberties. Ask them to support the amendments urged by Sen. Russ Feing0ld (D-WI) and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT).

Rather than make the changes needed, the most recent conference report adds new offenses subject to the DEATH PENALTY. This most recent version also adds a new provision that enables the SECRET SERVICE to throw protesters into PRISON for TEN years for disrupting major events such as political conventions.

Privacy issues are still unprotected with the latest version of the Patriot Act according to American Library Association, Bill of Rights Defense Committee, ACLU and other rights groups.

Your call is crucial to help prevent a Patriot Act which would drastically reduce basic civil rights and freedom of speech.

Cloture vote may take place as early as 2:30 pm ET February 28 or soon thereafter and the final result will last for years to come.
