Americans urged to open up wallets for hurricane victims
Personal message:
Do we really want to give to the America Red Cross or can we find better People-to-People ways where our money will ALL be spent FOR the People themselves, not for salaries, etc…such as maybe through Cit-Go? Locally verifiable groups? Inter-faith reliable accountable people?
Find this at Give.org which doesn’t really criticize this kind of salary figure–but there are many more urls that raise many questions about the organization (you will find with a little research, for example, that the use of the money for a Calif disaster has been highly questioned and whether or not the contributions of citizens actually were all spent for the national disastors, GW Bush was honorary Chair of the American Red Cross and nominated high profile folks/friends/yes “men” to this organization…There are lots of politics involved in the American branch of the Red Cross–including plenty that angers the International Committee of the Red Cross/Red Crescent which hasn’t been allowed to do it’s job in places like Fallujah and other places in Iraq–due to the US authorities.
You might find it interesting to see how many are Republicans and friends of Bush in this organization.
