Benchmarks? No, Skid-marks!

by Don Nash

Hallelujah and oh happy days! America’s Lord and Savior, our Commander-in-Grief, the debonair and murderous bon vivant, President Buckaroo Bushista has agreed that “benchmarks for Iraq are about high time. Dateline Thursday May 10, 2007, the President of the U.S. of A. has “decided that “negotiating benchmarks with Congress is a priori and a damn good idea. Wow, go figure.

Okay now everybody, kiss some children lightly on their precious little heads. Grab a neighbor’s hand and join in that celebratory dancing celebration and ‘bust-a-move’ then get yourselves jiggy in sheer abject delight. Our Glorious Decider has “decided it’s about the right thing to do. Oh mommy, what a nauseatingly ignorant display of utter ignoramity. I made that last word up. Not bad for a west side buffoon, no?

President Buckaroo Bushista has run out of time, worn out the patience of the American people, and comprehensively failed to railroad the Congress. Wow, Congress is cloning itself a spine. Someone better check with the AMA to see if that’s theocratically legal. If Congress didn’t give Bush another dime for his illegal and immoral war of naked aggression on the sovereign people of Iraq, it wouldn’t affect the soldiers in the least. You see folk, the soldiers get paid one way or another. They are after all is propagandized and done, employees of the government. They get theirs and how in hell did mainstream media miss that remarkably missing memo. De-fund the troops, really? Not in this fiscal life. Gosh, another talking points memo has just bit the dust. Or, ridiculous conjecture is bit in the butt. Either way.

For each and every serving member of America’s horribly disgraced military, it’s just a job and not really an adventure. We all seem to forget that in the spin and hype that oozes from the Beltway Halls of Babylon, Congress, the Whitewash House, and the Bushistas. Budgetary constraints are nonexistent in the current torrent of babble spewing forth from the knee-jerks and hyper-histrionic profiteers that salivate like Pavlov’s grafting dog, anytime the dialog over funding America’s military rises like yeast on rotting beer smegma. The Repukes can lay that badly brutalized baby to rest.

Benchmarks are simply and graphically, skid-marks in the nation’s BVD’s. The Iraq preemptive war turned debacle turned quagmire turned civil war turned humanitarian horror, is a stain on America that will remain vividly apparent to any and all that may in future hold their noses and politely have a look at Bush America’s insanity on Iraq. The truly overwhelming problem is, the soldiers. The American military personnel that have been laid to waste and worse for the Bush war. The American soldiers that have had their lives cut short for George Bush have been wasted and that is America’s disgraceful shame. America and the American people were never ever threatened by Iraq or the Iraqi people. The official reports on Iraq’s wmd programs prove it and the Generals know that. Congress should know it and stop playing the expedience game with young American’s lives. Benchmarks are skid-marks and only prove the high-speed chase that is Iraq is crashing to a cataclysmic endgame. Yeah, and “benchmarks are about time and space and illusion and distortion and won’t Tony Snow have oodles and gobs of irrelevant presidential quotes to slaver on the media and any fool still unbelievably, listening.

Listening to Bush’s psycho-babble about benchmarks is frustrating. It’s eerily similar to watching a crazy man rave on about the spiders crawling up his pant legs. Iraq is the spider and it’s crawling up Bush’s pant legs.
