Convergence!

by Don Nash

If one is paying even the slightest bit of attention, you can see it coming. Maybe it’s karma. Whatever. Lines of convergence are scattered here and there as if it’s some kind of red flag warning. Our cultural dogma of exploit, use, self absorbed entitlement, and corrupt politics is rapidly turning the ‘land of the free’ into a land of fearful arrogance. Arrogance wrapped in an illusion of superiority, is exactly what the Bush gang of war profiteers has run on America since their day one. Arrogance wrapped in an air of superiority is your basic ignorance.

Congress has granted every greedy wanton desire of the Bush administration and that would include Bush’s stupid preemptive war on Iraq. War without provocation is a war of aggression and that’s illegal. Fredo Gonzales and John Yoo can spin it six ways from Sunday, it’s still illegal by treaty and the Geneva Convention. Misery does love company. The American people seem pretty miserable and the Bush company certainly love that.

America’s Congress and the Bush gang have spent the taxpayer’s money with a vengeance. The Social Security Trust Fund is bankrupt and how did you think that American government was financing the Iraq disaster? What was in the Trust Fund has been replaced with Treasury Department IOU’s and did anyone stop to wonder how that would be repaid? Whoops this just in, Anna Nicole Distraction just shot up the local high school/university/shopping mall and what with the other shootings and weather disasters, we were all just too darn busy. Anyone remember New Orleans? The Gulf Coast? How about the veterans that got themselves shot/blown to disabled for George Bush? Yeah you remember, the ones that mainstream media barely talks about. No money for rehab, no money for that “alleged boost to the minimum wage. Congress can crank out money for Bush’s war but, America’s boys and girls that have given their best are barely able to get at a doctor. Veterans Administration? What a cruel joke. The joke’s on the service personnel. Can you say ‘dark ages’?

Lines of convergence. That whiz-bang prescription drug benefit for America’s seniors? Farce and a fractured fairy tale turned screaming nightmare. Medicare and Medicaid are forcing doctors to cancel their patients that rely on that coverage. The government isn’t paying the doctor bills. Golly, why would that be? Gosh Grandma and Grandpa, how’s that Social Security and the golden years of retirement? The Gray Panthers just may ride again. Walkers ready?

Exxon Mobil scores another whammer for the profit margin and how many credit cards are you using to fuel the old family Suburban? How’s the mortgage? Are you ready for the housing market to collapse? Lines of convergence are everywhere. Converging towards a day of reckoning. Are your children ready for a draft? The draft is awaiting just over that ‘surging’ horizon, hiding slightly out of sight. Well, there won’t be any draft for the corporate/special interest elite. Oh yeah, and the politicians. Any of the Bush girls in service? Cheney’s? Rumsfeld’s? How about the children of Dennis ‘fatty’ Hastert? Tom Delay? How about Pills Limbaugh? Wait, does old Pills even have children? That might have been hasty and premature. Get it? Pills, Limbaugh, and premature! That’s kind of funny.

Is the Great Wall of Mexico being built to keep the Mexicans out or to keep Americans from escaping to Mexico? Hmm, if the Mexicans come here and the Americans go to Mexico, will the white folk have to sneak across the border and pick the lettuce for the Mexicans? We’d better ask Lou Dobbs. That’s not a convergence, but it’s ironic in the extreme.

So Congress gave Bush the power to declare martial law at the drop of a presidential pretzel. Now wasn’t that just a keen idea. See the Defense Authorization Act ala 2006. Kind of leaves any American scratching a head and feigning oaths of allegiance to the Republicans. All George the Insane has to do is “decide that well, “thar’s some trouble brewing and we’s don’t gots to consult or ask Congress for squat so whoops there it is! Lines of tyrannical convergence in the very least. You didn’t think that Camp Guantanamo Inquisition was for Muslims did you? Camp Inquisition is for those ‘enemy combatants’ that Bush or whomever decides it’s for. You see, the Defense Authorization Act ala 2006 passed the Imperial U.S. Senate by a unanimous vote. Catch that “unanimous part? Skulls Clinton voted for tyranny and ‘Bare-ax’ Obama voted for tyranny and ‘Dumb-ass’ Durbin and you know how the fascists voted. Unanimously unanimous! Isn’t that ever so famously fascist.

There’s gunfights at the Okay Salon and gunfights at school and the NRA fanatics are screaming about “no one takes their guns! Yeah, whatever. Are the gun fans really going to shoot it out with a well armed and ready SWAT team? You see, they’ll be coming for the guns. Government will be coming for the guns. It’s another one of those convergence things. A well armed “militia is what the Constitution is talking about and not regular citizens. American citizens. The well armed “militia would be those SWAT teams and the U.S. military.

Lines of convergence are converging on a coup de grâce for America’s last freedoms. The American people should be about more than fed up with Bush, Congress, the Supreme Court, big oil, price gouging, the off-shoring of jobs, and our once noble middle class ways and means. There’s fractures in the American veneer and it ain’t pretty kids. It is a natural convergence of injustice and political corruption that leaves any and all previous political corruption and malfeasance in office, the workings of posing rank amateurs. It’s karma. It’s due and that’s sad but true. Lines of convergence are laying there snaking closer and closer. If you haven’t been paying any attention, don’t count on mainstream media to offer any factual reporting on what’s to come. Mainstream media is still trying to explain why they all to a man/woman played the whoring cheerleaders for Bush’s insane preemptive war on Iraq. While I’m thinking about it, God bless Bill Moyers. Glad you’re back Mr. Moyers, you have been sorely missed.
